2023 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships
The excitement is palpable as we gear up for the 2023 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Tlaxcala, Mexico. All the participating teams have arrived and are already soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city. The much-anticipated event is scheduled to kick off on Friday, October 6th, and will culminate in an exhilarating finals showdown and the bronze medal matches on Sunday, October 15th.
The stakes are sky-high, with a jaw-dropping prize pool of 1 million US dollars up for grabs. However, the most coveted reward of all is a guaranteed spot in next year's Olympic Games. This has all the top teams from around the world battling fiercely for supremacy. The burning question is, who will emerge victorious and secure already their ticket to the Olympics?
For the complete list of women's teams, check it out [here].
And for the men's teams, you can find the list [here].
Let's delve into the competition format:
The tournament structure consists of a preliminary round, followed by a single elimination round, and a lucky loser round. During the preliminary round, the 48 teams of each gender will be divided into 12 pools, each comprising four teams. Every team will face off against their three pool opponents, with the top two ranked teams advancing to the elimination round.
Additionally, four teams that rank third in their respective pools and perform the best among the other third-ranked teams will also advance to the next stage. Unfortunately, the remaining eight teams will be relegated to the lucky loser round, where they will compete in four matches to determine the final four spots in the elimination round.
The single elimination round includes the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and, of course, the highly anticipated medal matches. Mark your calendars for October 15th, as all the medal matches will take place on this thrilling final day of the competition.
We wish the best of luck to all the competing teams and may the finest emerge victorious!

The Beach Volleyball Magician
Meet Kristen Nuss, the 25-year-old, 1.68 m (5'6") from New Orleans, LA, USA. She's currently recognized as one of the finest beach volleyball defenders worldwide. The McKibbin Brothers & AVP recently featured her.
“The limits of speed, gravity, and how tall a pro beach volleyball athlete should be, for starters. Her indomitable game, sheer athleticism and incorruptible spirit are exactly what the AVP is all about.
With back-to-back 2023 Gold Series wins, Nuss and her partner, Taryn Kloth are dazzling fans and legends, stunning opponents, and proving Nuss is the one to watch for years to come. She’s everywhere the volleyball is going to be“
Video Of the Day
In a heartwarming video, Olympian Jake Gibb enjoys a game of CBVA “B” Tournament with his son. As a father, I believe this is one of the greatest gifts life can offer - the chance to share the love of the game with your child. I hope to experience this joy someday.
Wishing you all the best,
